HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING...

"I want to hear more...a little reminiscent of Ryan Adams, which is pretty stratospheric company...I think Joe Whyte is the sh*t...the guy's got it going on from the writing perspective...he sounds fantastic. Check him out!" – Ray Randall, Americana Roots

"Joe Whyte is the best alt-country artist I've ever heard at TAXI (and I've heard alot)...Great songs. Both thumbs way up...These songs contain the essence of what is good about alt-country music...This is flat-out killer from head to toe..." - TAXI

"...As far as production is concerned, the musical choices are intelligent ones. Whyte is backed by an ensemble of capable musicians who contribute to an album of consistent quality, and Whyte navigates confidently through songs with an assuredness that never approaches pretense...Ultimately, the album is a cohesive collection of alt. country pearls that shimmer with simplicity and effectiveness." – Royce Wagner, Captain Obvious (music blog)

"***** (5 stars) & Artist of the Month" - Indie Sounds NY, August 2007

"I just put it on and already I'm loving it!" - AmericanaOK (Scotland)

Back from IRELAND/UK Tour - October 12, 2007

I'm finally back from a short, yet amazing tour of Ireland and the UK. I did 2 shows in Dublin with The Duhks, who were as nice as they are incredible, and Gavin Glass, whose new album is nothing short of amazing.

I also played to a packed house in London in support of Foy Vance, which was a fantastic night, especially since it was my first show ever in England.

The highlight though had to be the Darvel Music Festival in Scotland. Not only were our hosts Neil and Sheila the 2 coolest people around, but we had the opportunity to play with 3 incredible acts, Endrick Brothers, Redlands Palomino Co. and Richmond Fontaine, who were all really down to earth, cool people as well.

Here's a small mention I got on the Crooked Rain website (Thanks, Paul):

"Darvel really is a diamond in the rough. Whilst corporate juggernauts and beer promotion vehicles hog all the headlines with mediocre lineups for extortionate prices, this small Ayrshire town puts on a fest by music fans for music fans. It's future is always in the balance with regards to funding but hope fully these crazy diamonds will shine on for a few more years - Viva Darvel!

JOE WHYTE

We first came across Joe about a year ago with his Wrecking Ball EP; it was a fine effort but maybe a bit too safe. His new album 'Devil in the Details' address that point however, and features some fine songwriting. He has a classic east coast voice and put in a good set tonight helped in no small measure by Dan Marcus on mandolin and electric guitar. This addition helped Joe rise above the normal acoustic performer level and he played some nice tracks, rounding off with the mandolin led lullaby 'No More' A thoroughly nice bloke too."

All in all, things couldn't have gone any better. Thanks so much to all the other acts we played with, Paul Lee, Neil and Sheila McKenna, Will Rees, Orla Keeshan, Dec and Jane, Kiernan McMullan, Edel Coffey, Helen Pyke and everyone else who was kind enough to come up to talk afterwards and buy a CD.

Hope to see you all soon!!

AmericanaOK - me on helium!! - September 24, 2007

For those of you that tuned into the AmericanaOK podcast this weekend, they were kind enough to feature 3 songs from the new album. Unfortunately, something happened and the songs got sped up somehow, which is why I sounded like Alvin from The Chipmunks. So no, that's not how I really sound!

Anyway, please go over to my MySpace page (www.myspace.com/joewhyte) to hear the real versions of the tracks.

Thanks to Tom at AmericanaOK anyway for putting me on the show. I'm a huge fan. Hopefully we can sort it out for next time.
